Larry Orton is a cybersecurity founder and researcher who has spent 19 years leading soldiers as a U.S. Army Master Sergeant. He holds a Master of Information and Cybersecurity from UC Berkeley, where his team built an AI agent that hacks systems on its own. He is the author of the novel Defenseless by Design.
Larry Orton is a cybersecurity founder, researcher and leader. Over 19 years in the US Army, he led recruiting, retention and waiver programs, served on a combat deployment responsible for the brigade's readiness, and built Rally Point, a workflow tool the Army has used daily for four years. He earned a bachelor's in computer science from Liberty University and a Master of Information and Cybersecurity from UC Berkeley. His Berkeley capstone, an autonomous penetration testing system that took live machines to full control without human help, became a company. He writes about AI on offense, security leadership, and why breaches happen between teams. His first novel, Defenseless by Design, turns a modern breach into a story people actually finish. He lives in South Carolina.
